Subtraction chart - Nienhuis AMI

Using the subtraction strip chart, the child practices solving the equations from the 1-18 subtraction tables. Strips of natural wood whose length corresponds to that of squares 1-18 are used to indicate the number to be subtracted (minuend) and a set of blue stripes to subtract with (subtrahend). A set of red stripes is included for additional explorations. The 2 sets of strips are stored in hardwood boxes.
