It is well known that if children are able to identify the parts of speech and recognize the different elements of a given sentence, they can apply this skill to their writing skills and ultimately improve them. Today, writing in education has become a very important skill, and although Montessori teachers have always taught expository writing, many do not have a prescribed methodology to improve the abilities and children's writing skills.

These sheets are a first step to help teachers think about how they can teach writing. In lower elementary, once children get past the grammar boxes, they don't have much opportunity to explore additional extensions. These cards fill that void by allowing children to continue learning grammar and writing. Each part of speech is accompanied by numerous cards that allow students to explore a given concept, while a second set of cards gives them the opportunity to build and develop their practical skills according to the concept studied. Over 150 cards are included, along with an answer key.
