Before the age of 6, the child needs to anchor himself in reality to develop his spirit of abstraction which will not feed the imagination.

It is not recommended to offer them non-realistic stories (talking animals, anthropomorphism, imaginary creatures like mermaids, unicorns, ...). We prefer everyday stories, which allow the child to identify, or even science books that fascinate them.

After 6 years old, children need heroes to project themselves towards an ideal. They will also have an attraction for history books to understand where they come from.
